Local Issues
SLADE advocates improved diabetes care through the grassroots efforts of the membership. Members help build public support for improved health care and increased awareness of diabetes in a number of ways. SLADE members are actively involved in the local chapters of ADA, JDRF, the Diabetes Coalition, and other diabetes advocacy groups. SLADE members provide education and training in diabetes treatment and self-management education to the community.
SLADE is essential to building support for the treatment and awareness of diabetes. The Legislation Chair serves the membership by participating on the Missouri Diabetes Prevention and Control Program and by updating the membership on local advocacy issues. For more information, please contact our Legislation Chair at legislation@slade-diabetes.org.
